Covid-19 Alert: Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our team and our customers. Thousand Oaks Pest Control is still open for business, due to the global impact of COVID-19, we continue to follow government advice and have put in place the following measures.

The City of Thousand Oaks created the Thousand Oaks Community Art Gallery in 1991. It is owned by the city and is maintained by the city. The gallery provides a broad variety of exhibits, seminars, artist presentations, and special events related to the visual arts. It exhibits the work of established as well as up-and-coming artists, each of whom presents an assortment of uniquely conceived images, creative approaches, and visual styles. There is a possibility that customers may also buy the original artwork. The Gallery is available for rental by lone artists as well as arts groups. Click here for more info.

The day-to-day activities of the gallery are guided by both the staff of the City and a steering group made up of members from visual arts associations from the surrounding area and committed arts leaders. A reasonable user charge that is paid by exhibiting artists helps pay the organization’s operating expenses, and an active volunteer corps serves as the staff. Monday through Saturday, between the hours of 11 am and 5 pm, the gallery is open.

When and where may I see the gallery?

The opening and closing times of each exhibition influence the gallery’s regular business hours. The Gallery may be found just to the south of the Ventura (101), near the corner of Borchard Road and Michael Drive. It is just next to the Newbury Park Library. Check out the map over there on the right sidebar.

Reservations

At the Grant R. Brimhall Library, reservations are accepted on a lottery basis once every three months, on the last Monday of each month, commencing six months before the commencement of the desired reservation term. This takes place at 9:00 a.m. on the last Monday of each month. For instance, the lottery for reservations that are scheduled to start in the months of January, February, and March would be conducted on the last Monday of the month of June at nine in the morning in the main lobby of the Grant R. Brimhall Library. After the conclusion of the lottery, any reservations that are made will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. ** The next lottery for preliminary bookings for the months of January, February, and March 2023 will be conducted through email on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 9:00 am Pacific Time. This is because of the COVID problem. Please submit your request to [email protected]. Requests that are submitted to any other email address or that are sent before 9:00 am Pacific Time will not be considered. Include the name of the organization you’re requesting information for, as well as the month and date you’d want it by.

Please feel free to download the paperwork and application in [PDF] format if you are interested in renting the Gallery. The current monthly rent payment is $700.00, and it does not include insurance. You will need to have a completed application and a check to cover the cost of the rental when you show up for the lottery. You will have a month to present evidence that you have insurance.

Renters who want less than a full month’s worth of accommodations will have their applications reviewed at a prorated charge. For a detailed discussion of the City’s rental costs, regulations and processes, please visit the City’s User Fee Manual or contact Debra Hoadley at [email protected] or (805) 480-7204.
